Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor have picked a seriously beautiful destination for their honeymoon. The newlyweds have pulled out all the stops for their honeymoon, heading to summer hotspot Greece for a sun-soaked getaway following their lavish wedding. The former Made in Chelsea stars opted for the chic island of Crete for their romantic break, staying in the luxurious five-star Elounda Peninsula All-Suite Hotel , where rooms start from £610 a night on TripAdvisor.
It’s no wonder that Elounda, Crete was firmly on the couple’s radar when searching for honeymoon destinations ; the region boasts some spectacular beaches, crystalline blue waters perfect for a dip, breathtaking landscapes and some of that world-famous delicious Greek cuisine.
Sounds like bliss to us.
Of course, Greece holds a special place in the couple’s heart as it was during a holiday to Mykonos last year that Hugo popped the question.
In fact, Millie noted the romantic connection when she shared a snap on Instagram as she wandered down one of Elounda’s picturesque streets.
“Back where it all began #greece,” she captioned a photo of herself looking relaxed and holiday-ready in an elegant pale pink maxi dress.
It’s no surprise that Elounda Peninsula All-Suite was top of their list for a honeymoon hotel either – after all, it has everything you could want for a romantic holiday.
For a start, the hotel’s suites each boast their very own private swimming pools, with some seriously jaw-dropping views of the turquoise ocean waters and the lush greenery.
It could be that Millie and Hugo are staying in one of the more grandiose villas, including direct access to the crystal-clear waters; in fact, Millie shared a photo of herself ‘out of office’ taking in the views next to the waterfront loungers.
The suites themselves are like a home away from home – they have their own living rooms, indoor and outdoor living rooms, bathrooms, steam showers, and private gardens. Ideal for a celebrity couple looking to escape the public eye and get some time to themselves.
Of course if guests can tear themselves away from the luxurious settings, there’s ample more pampering and unwinding to be had whether on the resort’s golf courses or in the seriously glamorous on-site spa. r there’s always the opportunity to wander down to the beach or go exploring in Elounda itself. It seems that the happy couple have already been won over, as Hugo gushed about the holiday spot on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself relaxing in the villa and taking in the views.
He wrote: “Have so much love for The Greek islands. A pleasure to visit Crete for the first time and be staying at eloundapeninsula. An island with thousands of years of fascinating history, incredible scenery, tradition and delicious food. For now kicking back with a Gin and Tonic, waiting for the sun to set. Could not be happier.”
